Beginning Japanese Conversation

This class will focus on conversational Japanese. Students will also learn about Japanese culture, customs, daily activities and more. Student input and learning abilities will help guide the speed and direction of the class.

Instructor Seiichi Kaida grew up in Japan and is a naturalized US citizen. He has taught at Parker School in Waimea, St. Andrew’s Priory in Honolulu, UH, HPU and the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo.
Mr. Kaida is also an excellent Math teacher. (Math is fun)

Beginning French

Have you always been interested in learning this beautiful romance language? Haven’t taken a class since high school and want to brush up? Do you travel often and find that you need basic conversational skills? Then you are in the right place.

This class is designed to introduce you to basic French pronunciation, grammar, and expressions with an emphasis on survival travel skills and simple conversations.

We will use a study guide and there will be optional work outside of class to reinforce the material covered.

Ka Nohona Hawai’i: Hawaiian Lifestyle & Worldview

‘A’ohe wa e pau ai ka ‘ike: There is never a time when learning is finished. Ka Nohona Hawai’i is a fun and educational course that takes a look at the Hawaiian Worldview. We will investigate and study different Hawaiian practices and recognize its importance in both past and modern times.

Ka Nohona Hawai’i will also introduce students to Hawaiian Language. Students will learn Hawaiian vocabulary, salutations, and a self-introduction with an emphasis on pronunciation. We will also learn about significant areas of this island, take a look at Hawaiian song compositions, as well as various topics affecting the Hawaiian community. This is a fun course for those at an elementary & intermediate level in Hawaiian Studies. E komo mai (Do join us)!

Join us for an introductory class of the Spanish language as we learn basic skills that provide an overview of the language.
