Community Sewing Project for Ages 8-12: The Spirit of Giving
November is a time for thanks. Thanks for our family, friends and many blessings. In the spirit of giving, these classes will be devoted to making a difference in our community. We will be helping the American Cancer Society by sewing comfort pillows for the patients it serves. Your kind, creative touch will reach out and touch someone that needs it.
Each student will also be able to make a pillow for themselves.
All materials will be provided.

Hawaiian Dance Journeys for Ages 3-6
Each Journey begins with a Hawaiian craft and talk story about the Hawaiian culture. Basic Hula movement is introduced and developed for a short presentation at the end of the 4 week session.
Sharon has been teaching children’s dance classes for over 30 years. Her work is inspired by her love for children and experience as a professional dancer. Sharon has studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Ballroom and cultural dances across the US and abroad. She has performed with professional dance companies and has produced numerous dance productions for children in public and private schools, community events and cable television.
Founded by Sharon in 1990, Dance Journeys integrates a child’s self-awareness, world cultural and environmental awareness. Students have fun learning cultural dances, ballet fundamentals, contemporary rhythmic patterns and simple routines.
“Acknowledging the intelligence within every child is the basis of my work. This creates an environment that allows students to explore the connections between themselves and our world. We may be learning a cultural dance, skipping through the rainforest or developing choreography for a performance when, for any student at any moment, a connection is made! While participating in a Dance Journeys class, workshop, I hope students are inspired by these connections throughout their life journey.”
