“Demystifying your Digital Camera” class is your introduction to working in the digital environment. Are you confused about how to take pictures with a digital camera you do not understand? This class will show you how your camera works, and then help you to optimize your camera for your specific needs. You will learn how to get the best quality images and acquire an in-depth understanding of digital imaging, including resolution, software, and printers.
This class is designed for those who want to understand how to use their digital camera for the best results. All aspects of successful digital imaging will be covered.
The follow-up to this class is Photoshop Made Easy, where you will begin to make local adjustments-as to the brightness, contrast, color, vibrance, and clarity of your images-easily learning to create both quality and dynamic images.
Working with both ends of the digital spectrum-the digital camera AND digital imaging software-lays the foundation for operating with comfort and confidence in the digital environment—skills that are necessary as you move towards making your personal digital photography experience more and more fulfilling.

It is designed to guide you through the steps from shooting the digital photograph to the finished image, using Photoshop as an electronic darkroom. Optimize and/or enhance your image through the magic and wonder of this cutting-edge and innovative software program.

This workshop is about finding and expressing your photographic vision, specifically where capturing the beauty of nature, people, and Spirit of Hawaii are concerned. This is a personal workshop full of practical wisdom, born of 30 years of in-the-field experience. It will show you both the hows and the whys of finding, conveying and expressing your vision with a camera. Vision leads to passion, and passion is a cornerstone of great photography.
Both instructional and inspirational, “The Journey of Photographic Vision” workshop helps you on your photographic journey to make better images of the places and people you love, and the technology and tools we have at our disposal in order to capture those images. Most importantly, Robert stresses the crucial theme of vision when it comes to photographing people, places, and cultures—and he helps you cultivate and find your own vision, and then fit it “within the frame.”
