Janice Gail

From her origins in California, Janice came to Hawaii more than 25 years ago to paint the beauty of the Island and its people. Her ongoing interest in the history of this earthly Paradise, and her love for its diverse population, have fueled much of her desire to capture the vanishing examples of architecture and ambience that once surrounded us here. Portraits of homes, as well as people and animals, and scenic and floral painting, still occupy much of her time, as do her devoted students.

Trained in Design and Illustration, Janice has found contact with Interior and Architectural Designers resulting in commissions for interior and exterior murals and installations.

Janice has won numerous honors at Local and Regional Juried Exhibitions, most notably a Purchase Award from the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, for an acquisition for the State Museum.

Janice welcomes visitors to her studio and garden; for an appointment, and further information, e-mail to janicegailart@aol.com, or call (808)936-1449.
